The Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, will visit the Republic of Korea on December 7 and 8 at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, a Government spokesman announced today (Friday).

"The Chief Executive will take the opportunity to further strengthen Hong Kong's ties with Korea and to update political and business leaders on developments in Hong Kong," the spokesman said.

During the visit, Mr Tung will call on the President and exchange views with senior Korean officials.

Details of the programme are being finalised and will be announced in due course.
