Following is a statement by the Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, today (Tuesday) on the death of Sir Robert Black:

"I am saddened to hear the death of Sir Robert Black, the former Governor of Hong Kong from 1958 to 1964. Sir Robert led the Hong Kong Government in serving the community and contributed to the development of Hong Kong. I would like to send my deepest condolences to Sir Robert's family."
