In response to press enquiries, the Judiciary has issued the following statement :

Regarding the reporting of the name of the defendant in Case DCCC 581/99, the Judiciary has never said no action would be taken, only that matters were under consideration.

However, if an offence under Section 156 and 157 of the Crimes Ordinance Chapter 200 has been committed, it is a matter for the Secretary for Justice.
