LegCo to Vote on Motion of Thanks

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

The Legislative Council will hold a meeting this Wednesday (October 27) at 2.30 pm in the Legislative Council Chamber. During the meeting, the Administration will respond to Members' speeches on the 'Motion of Thanks' proposed by Dr Hon Leong Che-hung. Members will then vote on the motion and the amendment.

The 'Motion of Thanks' says: "That this Council thanks the Chief Executive for his address." Hon Martin Lee will move an amendment to the motion.

On bills, second reading debates on the Adaptation of Laws (No.5) Bill 1999; the Adaptation of Laws (No.21) Bill 1999; the Adaptation of Laws (No.26) Bill 1999; the Adaptation of Laws (No.31) Bill 1999; the Adaptation of Laws (No. 28) Bill 1999; the Adaptation of Laws (No.23) Bill 1999; and the Adaptation of Laws (No. 24) Bill 1999 will be resumed. If the bills are supported by Members and receive their second reading, they will then go through the committee stage and be read the third time.

In addition, Members will put forward 16 questions on various policy areas requiring written replies from the Administration.

Members of the public are welcome to observe the proceedings of the meeting from the public galleries of the Legislative Council Chamber. They may reserve seats by calling 2869 9399 during office hours. Seats will be be allocated on a first come first served basis.
