The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

The Legislative Council will hold a meeting next Wednesday and Thursday (October 20 and 21) at 2.30 pm in the Legislative Council Chamber. During the meeting, Members will debate the Motion of Thanks regarding the Chief Executive's Policy Address 1999.

The Motion of Thanks, to be moved by Dr Hon LEONG Che-hung, says "That this Council thanks the Chief Executive for his address."

Hon Martin LEE will propose an amendment to the above motion.

During the meeting, Members will ask the Government 20 questions on various policy areas. All of them require written answers.

The agenda of the meeting can be obtained via the Legislative Council InfoFax Services (Tel. No.: 2869 9568).

Members of the public are welcome to observe the proceedings of the meeting from the public galleries of the Legislative Council Chamber. They may reserve seats by calling 2869 9399 during office hours. Seats will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
