Following is the English portion of the transcript of the media session by the acting Chief Executive, Ms Elsie Leung after officiating at a National Day reception in Tsim Sha Tsui this (Thursday) afternoon:

Reporter: Some politicians complained that they are unhappy about the guest list saying that why people from the democratic camp are excluded. Why is that? Why is there no one from the democratic camp?

Ms Leung: I think the guest list is already a lengthy one. We have been given more quota than other cities. It is not possible to include everybody. If you look at the list, you can see that it is widely representative with members of the Executive Council, Legislative Council, Provisional District Boards, different organisations, NGOs and also people from different professions and so on. I don't think political party is one of the categories. In other words, members are chosen not because of their political parties but rather because whether they are representatives of the Hong Kong community. Thank you.
