The Judiciary today (Wednesday) announced the appointment of Miss Susan Kwan Shuk-hing as Deputy Registrar of the High Court with effect from October 4, 1999.

The biographical notes of Miss Kwan is as follows:

Miss Kwan was born in Macau in 1954. She obtained her LL.B and P.C.LL. from the University of Hong Kong in 1977 and 1978 respectively and was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 1979. She has been in private practice and twice sat as a Deputy Judge of the District Court between 1994 and 1995. She was appointed Temporary Deputy Registrar, High Court in August 1998.
