The Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, has left for Shanghai today (Sunday) to attend the 1999 Fortune Global Forum.

"Mr Tung will participate in the Forum as a member of the VIP delegation of the Central People's Government," a Government spokesman said.

While in Shanghai, Mr Tung will attend the welcome reception and the gala dinner of the Forum to be held tomorrow evening.

The Chief Executive will be accompanied by Mrs Tung; and the Director of Beijing Office, Mr Bowen Leung. Mr Tung will return to Hong Kong on September 28.
