Counselling service for aircraft incident victims

The Social Welfare Department has so far received nine calls for counselling service through the hotline established after the China Airline aircraft incident last (Sunday) evening.

The spokesman of the Department said today (Monday) that three of the callers who were directly involved in the incident were considered as serious and would require follow-up services.

Manned by a senior clinical psychologist of the Department, the hotline 9387 2006 will continue service for people involved in the aircraft incident.

In addition, the department is organising a debriefing meeting in Princess Alexandra Community Centre, third floor, 60 Tai Ho Road, Tsuen Wan, at 7 pm on Thursday (August 26).

People involved in the incident and their family members were urged to join the debriefing meeting which would be run by the department's clinical psychologists with the support of the social workers, the spokesman added.
