The Hong Kong Observatory will present a special eight-episode TV programme, entitled "Meteorology Series", starting tomorrow (Saturday).

Speaking at a press conference today (Friday) to announce the launching of the new TV series, Assistant Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, Mrs Elaine Koo said the programme would feature scientific development related to the work of the Observatory.

"Jointly produced by the Hong Kong Observatory and the Radio Television Hong Kong, the programme will explore the relationship between climate change and human activities."

She noted that the rapid development in global telecommunication and numerical modelling had contributed immensely to weather forecasting. The process of automation had meant great changes in the way forecasts were prepared.

The TV series will be broadcast on every Saturday evening at 8 pm on ATV Home Channel.
