The 1999 Honours List has been published in the Government Gazette today (Thursday). This is the second full Honours List since the reunification.
The Chief Executive has accorded an honour or award to a total of 260 persons in this year's Honours List, including:

This year's recipients are from all walks of life. They have been given an honour or award in recognition of their significant personal contribution to Hong Kong or for their dedicated public and community service.
The presentation ceremony will be held later this year.

Mr CHOY is awarded the Hong Kong Immigration Service Medal for Distinguished Service in recognition of his outstanding performance and dedicated service in the Immigration Department. He is now the Deputy Director of Immigration and has served in the Immigration Department for over 32 years.

Mr POON is awarded the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Medal for Distinguished Service in recognition of his outstanding performance and dedicated service in the Customs and Excise Department. He is now an Assistant Commissioner of Customs and Excise and has served in the Customs and Excise Department for over 32 years.

Mr LEE is awarded the Hong Kong ICAC Medal for Distinguished Service in recognition of his outstanding performance and dedicated service in the Operations Department of the ICAC. He is now a Deputy Director of Operations and has served in the ICAC for over 24 years.

Mr KAN Chung-nin, Tony
Mr KAN is awarded the BBS for his contribution to the work of the Provisional Regional Council and for his community service in the New Territories, particularly the Sha Tin District.
Mr Robert Charles Allcock
Mr Allcock is awarded the BBS for his dedicated and meritorious service in the Department of Justice. He is currently the Deputy Law Officer and has served 12 years with the Government.
Medal for Bravery (Bronze)
Mr Andrew Grant McCormack
Mr McCormack is awarded the MBB in recognition of his bravery in helping others. On 10 May 1998, despite extreme danger to himself, he went into the rough sea to rescue a drowning man. Though exhausted after the rescue, he tried to revive the drowned man while awaiting the arrival of the marine police and the helicopter. Although he did not manage to save the life of the drowned person, Mr McCormack had shown exemplary courage in the incident.
