The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Anson Chan, made the following statement in Washington today (Tuesday):

I would like to join the Chief Executive in expressing the Administration's appreciation of Dr S Y Chung's selfless dedication to community services over the past 40 years. Many in the civil service have worked closely with him over a long period. We wish him well in his second retirement.

I welcome the Chief Executive's appointment of Mr C Y Leung as the Convenor of the Executive Council (ExCo). Mr Leung has been an active member of ExCo since his appointment. My colleagues and I look forward to working closely with him in the overall interest of the community.
