The Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, made the following statement today (Saturday):

"I am deeply shocked by the bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia. The HKSAR Government supports the position taken by the Central Government. I hope that the bombings will stop immediately. On behalf of the people of Hong Kong, I extend condolences to the family of those who died in the incident. We hope that those who have been injured will make an early recovery."
