A Government spokesman made the following announcement today (Friday) :

"The Chief Executive will postpone his forthcoming visit to Canada and U.S.A.

"In view of the importance of the right of abode issue, the Chief Executive has decided that he should remain in Hong Kong while the HKSAR Government is dealing with the matter.

"We are working on possible alternative dates for the visit."
