The Transport Department today (Thursday) announces that Citybus route 99 will be re-routed from April 25 onwards as one of the on-going efforts to enhance bus efficiency on Hong Kong Island.

Citybus route 99, plying between the South Horizons and Shau Kei Wan, will be diverted to route via Canal Road Flyover, Victoria Park Road and Wing Hing Street on their eastbound journeys.

Buses heading for the South Horizons will be re-routed via Tsing Fung Street Flyover, Victoria Park Road, Gloucester Road and Canal Road Flyover.

Speaking on the diversion, a spokesman for the department said: "The new arrangement will help reduce traffic pressure within the Wan Chai area, in particular the number of bus trips along Hennessy Road.

"The reliability of the bus service will be also be enhanced."

A number of bus stops on the omitted sections after the diversion will be suspended.

The spokesman reminded passengers to take note of the announcements posted at bus stops and make adjustments accordingly.
