The Chief Executive has appointed the members of the Land and Building Advisory Committee for the period from April 1, 1999 to March 31, 2001.

Professor Yeung Yue-man was re-appointed as the Chairman of the Committee. There are seven new members appointed for the Committee, namely, Mr Francis Cheung King-fung, Mr Tony Tse Wai-chuen, Mr Jimmy Tse Lai-leung, Mr Andrew Lam Siu-lo, Professor Wilson Tang Hon-chung, Mr Stephen Yuen Ching-bor and Mr Peter Dicky Yip.

Other members are:

Mr Keith G Kerr;

Mr Wong Chi-ming;

Mr Ronald Y C Lu;

Mr Victor H W So;

Mr Lam Kwok-cheong;

Mr Thomas W Y Kwok;

Mr Kwok Kwok-chuen;

Secretary for Planning, Environment and Lands;

Secretary for Housing;

Government Economist;

Director of Lands;

Director of Planning; and

Director of Buildings.

The terms of reference of the Committee are:

* To keep under review -

(i) the needs of the public and private sectors for land; and

(ii) the planned provision, take up and utilisation of land.

* In the light of the above, to consider the adequacy of land development programmes;

* to monitor and assess policies and procedures in relation to planning, land, buildings and the construction industry; and

* to advise the Government on any of the matters referred to in the above.
