The Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, today (Tuesday) received the Ombudsman's report on the Direct Investigation into the Commissioning and Operation of the New Airport at Chek Lap Kok.

Mr Tung thanked the Ombudsman for his report. "The Administration will study the report carefully and consider in particular what improvements can be made in the light of the recommendations set out in the report," Mr Tung said.

"I understand that in the light of public interest in the issue, the Ombudsman will publish the report on the investigation in accordance with the power conferred on him under The Ombudsman Ordinance," he added.
