The Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, has decided to make public the report of the Commission of Inquiry into the operation of the new Hong Kong International Airport, a spokesman for the Chief Executive's Office said today (Thursday).

The spokesman said the Government was studying the report carefully and would consider in particular the lessons that could be learnt in the light of the report.

"In view of the public interest in the matter, the Chief Executive has decided to make public the report," he said.

The spokesman added that the Chief Executive would meet the media tomorrow (Friday) after the publication of the report.
