The Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, said that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Team has made a good start today (Monday) in winning five gold medals in the Seventh Far East and South Pacific Region Games for the Disabled being held in Bangkok.

Mr Tung congratulated all the medal winners and commended them for their outstanding performance.

The Chief Executive said, "Hong Kong people are impressed by the determination and perseverance of our disabled athletes. I know they have faced a lot of difficulties and challenges during training and competition. All these they have overcome to achieve remarkable success today. I hope other members of the Hong Kong Team will continue to do their best to bring honour to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region."
