The Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, will visit the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (SEZ) on Monday (August 31), a spokesman for the Chief Executive's Office announced today (Thursday).

The Chief Executive said : "Since early last month, the Central People's Government, the Guangdong Provincial Government and the Shenzhen Municipal Government have put in place contingency arrangements at Shenzhen's Huangtian Airport as support for the air cargo trade in Hong Kong.

"I will make use of the visit to personally thank the Shenzhen municipal officials and Huantian Airport authorities."

In addition, the Chief Executive will take the opportunity to learn more about latest developments in the SEZ. Apart from calling on Huangtian Airport, Mr Tung will visit high-tech industries in Shenzhen. He will also exchange views with municipal officials on matters concerning Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
