The acting Chief Executive, Mrs Anson Chan, issued the following statement today (Thursday):

" Due to my wrong interpretation of some questions raised by the media at the Airport last night, my answers to these questions had brought about misunderstanding among the public. I now clarify that, officials from the Mainland or the Central Government had not , during the past year, given me any instructions on how to do my job. In fact, the promise of 'One country, two systems' has been put into full implementation since the Handover."
