A spokesman for the Chief Executive made the following announcement today (Wednesday):

"The Chief Executive will invite Councillors-elect of the first Legislative Council to a gathering and dinner at Government House on the evening of June 10. The Chief Executive will personally congratulate the Legislative Councillors.

"The Chief Executive will start meeting Legislative Councillors in groups beginning July. He looks forward to exchanging views with them on general matters of the Special Administrative Region, and listening to their proposals to promote the economy and increase employment opportunities.

"The Chief Executive hopes that the Government and the Legislative Council will develop a good and constructive working relationship."
