A souvenir booklet, "1998 Election Special" is available today (Monday) free of charge to members of the public at the 18 District Offices and 149 shopping centres managed by the Housing Authority.

The booklet is published by the Government to promote understanding and participation by all sectors of the community in the first Legislative Council election of the HKSAR on May 24.

The 44-page booklet includes information on the electoral framework, voting systems and polling procedures.

Photographs and basic information on all 166 candidates contesting the Geographical Constituency, Functional Constituency and Election Committee polls are included.

Special distribution counters have been set up from 1 pm to 7 pm today at the Central, Mong Kok, Wong Tai Sin and Tsuen Wan MTR stations and the Kowloon Tong Railway Station.
