Emission from road transport is one of the major sources of VOC. It contributed to 20% of total emission in 2006. The tightening of vehicle emission standards from Euro I in 1995 to Euro IV in 2006 and the evaporative emission standard for new registered vehicles in 1999 have reduced the VOC emission in recent years.
