Emission from consumer products is one of the major sources of VOC. It contributed to about 30% of the total emission in 2006. Starting from 1 April 2007, a new legislation has been enacted to impose statutory limits on the VOC content of six categories of consumer products, namely hairspray, air freshener, insecticide, insect repellent, floor wax stripper and multi-purpose lubricant. It is expected that the VOC emission from consumer products will further decrease in the coming years.
