The Elderly Health Services provide primary health care to the elderly, improve their self-care ability, encourage healthy living and strengthen family support so as to minimize illness and disability.

Services include:


Public Health & Administration

To systematically collect and analyse information on health status of the elderly population in Hong Kong so as to provide timely health intervention programme.

the elderly
Elderly health centres provide clinic service of health assessment, physical check up, counselling, curative treatment and health education to elderly. Elderly aged 65 and above can be enrolled as members of elderly health centres. The annual enrolment fee is $110 (Fees will be waived for Comprehensive Social Security Allowance (CSSA) recipients and those who express financial hardship). Enrolled members are provided with services of physical check up and health assessment, counselling, curative treatment, and health education. Health promotion and disease prevention programmes including annual health check are free of charge while curative service is charged at $45 per consultation.For those who wish to enroll as members,please call the nearest Elderly Health Centre for further information.


Visiting Health Teams

Visiting health teams reach into the community and residential care settings to provide wellness programmes to increase the health awareness of the elderly and their self-care ability. Using the train- the-trainer approach, visiting health teams also provide training programmes to carers to enhance their health knowledge and skills in caring for the elderly. The teams also carry out regular vaccination for high-risk groups. The out-reaching service provided by visiting health teams is free of charge.
