Implementation of Electronic Radiation Licensing System (ERLS) Phase I
The Radiation Board Licensing Service is developing a web-based ˇ§Electronic Radiation Licensing Systemˇ¨ (ERLS) to further improve the efficiency, transparency and customer-friendliness of the existing radiation licensing services and radiation monitoring services (RMS). Phase I of ERLS will be launched in November 2010. Although web-based services will not be available, certain features that affect existing licenses are detailed in the notice.

Judgment of Judicial Review against the Radiation Board
An application for judicial review against the Radiation Board's licensing and exemption policy on end-users of tritium self-luminous signs was dismissed by the High Court on 12 January 2010 with a costs order nisi that the applicant pays to the Radiation Board the costs of the proceedings. (Judgment)
The Board will continue to consider applications for licences and exemptions with regard to tritium signs according to its established policy.
