Implementation of Short Message Service (SMS) on 1 December 2014
SMS notification for radiation health services has been implemented from 1 December 2014 for:
1. reminding radiation workers of the date, time and place of medical examination on the Monday in the week of the medical appointment;
2. sending alert messages to the radiation workers and their employers of the high dose recorded by the dosimeter immediately returned to Radiation Monitoring Service (RMS).

Please note that the SMS Chinese character set is using UCS-2. For cell phones which do not have UCS-2 decoder, the Chinese characters in the message may not be displayed correctly.

Regarding the register of mobile phone number for the SMS:

  • Radiation workers can provide their mobile phone numbers in the application form of medical examination or when they attend the medical appointment. SMS will be issued for next appointment;
  • Users or authorized persons of RMS can register their mobile phone numbers in 'Profile Management' page after logging onto their user or subscriber accounts.

Electronic Import Licence Form for Radioactive Substance and Irradiating Apparatus (Effective from 25 August 2014)
Being a trade facilitation measure, we are going to provide an electronic Import Licence Form for Radioactive Substance and Irradiating Apparatus. The form [TRA-RSIA (2014)] will be available for free download at our official website (http://www.info.gov.hk/dh-rhu/english/html/ILapplication.htm) from 1 August 2014. The electronic form will be effective and mandatory from 25 August 2014. For effective enforcement purpose, application by the existing Form 3 [TRA 187 (Rev 2007)(2007 年修訂)] will no longer be accepted on the same date. Please note that the application procedure remains unchanged. Thank you for your attention.

Implementation of Electronic Radiation Licensing and Services System (ERLS) Phase IIA
New phase of the web-based “Electronic Radiation Licensing and Services System” (ERLS) was launched in July 2012.

Registered authorized persons of the Radiation Monitoring Services subscribers can view their employees' dose records at the website of the ERLS.

Registered holders of licences issued by the Radiation Board can also browse the status of their licences and the progress of their applications at the website. Please visit the Radiation Board’s website for details.

Individual Dose Enquiry
With effect from 1 October 2012, Individual user subscribing to the Radiation Monitoring Service may enquire his/her dose history through our newly implemented Electronic Radiation Licensing and Services System (ERLS).
